The official All Blacks tour record confirms a 3–1 Test-series win for the Springboks. New Zealand won the opening Test 33–16, before South Africa won the remaining three. The final Test in Baltimore finished 43–28 to South Africa on 12 September, local time. [1]

Preparation was part of the original purpose

In the 26 July squad announcement, New Zealand named 44 players for the tour. Coach Dave Rennie described it as an opportunity to develop connections and learn lessons for the 2027 World Cup. That was the stated aim before the matches; it does not establish which lessons have since been absorbed. [2]

Separate the outcome from the diagnosis

The scorelines establish who won. They cannot, alone, explain whether a particular selection, exit pattern or defensive decision caused the result.
